Sean Casey has been a member of the PGA of Canada for 27 years and has provided over 30,000 golf lessons. He taught at The Glen Abbey Golf Academy 2001-2020 and was the Director of Instruction from 2007-2020. His current and former students have won at every level including Provincial & National Championships.
Sean was recently honoured as The 2020 Coach of the Year by the PGA of Ontario.
In 2016, Sean was honoured as the Teacher of the Year for Junior Golfers by the PGA of Ontario. In 2011, Golf Digest named Sean as one of the top four prominent teachers in Canada and in 2009 he was honored as the “Teacher of the Year” by both the PGA of Ontario and Canada.
Sean was fortunate to work closely with Sean Foley at Glen Abbey for his first six years at Glen Abbey and credits Foley for having the greatest influence on his approach to coaching. Sean is most passionate about developing and supporting his competitive junior golfers and graduates of his U19 program currently playing NCAA Collegiate Golf.
Sean has been the featured instructor in SCOREGolf Magazine eight times and has provided coaching support to the CJGA National Teams since 2007.
Sean joined the PGA of Canada in 1996 as an apprentice, graduated from the University of New Brunswick's Business Administration Program in 2000 and became a Class 'A' member of the PGA in 2001.
Born in Oakville Ontario, Sandra dominated junior golf in Canada as a teen winning three straight Ontario Junior Championships and three consecutive Canadian Junior Championships.
Post turned professional in the spring of 1968 at the age of 19. In her debut season on the LPGA Tour she became the first Canadian to win an LPGA major championship. For her performance on the professional circuit, Post was voted the 1968 LPGA Rookie of the Year.
In 1978 – 79, Post won the Colgate-Dinah Shore Winner’s Circle, one of the LPGA Tour’s biggest events, in back-to- back years. For the 1979 season, she finished second on the LPGA money list and in the same year she was awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy for Canada’s Outstanding Athlete of the Year and the Bobbie Rosenfeld Award (’79-’80) for the Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.
During her 16 years on the pro tour, Post won officially 8 times and 2 unofficial events and had 20 second place tournament finishes, including the U.S. Women’s Open. Following the end of her tour life, Post returned to Canada and launched a highly successful golf school. In addition, she has supported a number of charitable events, captained Canada’s Nations Cup team, served as a commentator on televised golf events, designed a set of women’s golf clubs for the Jazz Golf company, written for several Canadian magazines, written a book and produced several golf instructional videos.
Sandra Post has been inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, Canada’s Golf Hall of Fame, Ontario’s Sports Hall of Fame, Ontario’s Golf Hall of Fame, and Oakville’s Sports Hall of Fame. In 2001 she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Score Golf . In 2003 she was honoured by her country with the Order of Canada.
John has been a PGA of Canada member since 2022. He devotes the majority of his time to junior golfers but has experience with golfers of all ages and skill levels. He focuses on helping students understand their swing and tendencies in order to play better and self correct more easily. He has worked with and around some of the most knowledgeable coaches in Canada, and continuously searches for new avenues to improve his teaching.
As a former NCAA division 1 golfer he had the opportunity to play with and learn from some of the best players in the world. He draws on his playing experience in order to help others improve and excel.
Having been a member of junior programs growing up, he recognizes the importance of instruction and structured practice. He attributes much of his own success in golf to the years in these programs and the skills he developed from them.
Sam adopts a holistic approach to golf, recognizing the many factors that influence performance and game improvement. His coaching philosophy emphasizes simplicity, beginning with a focus on proper setup before progressing to more advanced swing theory.
Sam acknowledges the responsibility he holds in shaping the development of younger players, both on and off the course. He encourages them to consider the mental aspects of the game and understand the challenges associated with competing at a higher level. As a junior, Sam participated in the Sean Casey Golf U19 competitive program, which ultimately led him to play for the University of Ottawa’s golf team.
Since 2020, Sam has been mentored by Sean Casey, aligning with the launch of Burloak Indoor Golf, where he currently serves as Assistant Manager.
His role at Burloak Indoor Golf has provided him with the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of coaches and influential people in the golf industry. He has learned from former touring professionals such as Sandra Post, club professionals like Tony Evershed, and coaches like Rich Storey and Braeden Cryderman. These relationships have allowed Sam to refine his knowledge of the game, learning from some of the most respected minds in golf.
Sam also serves as the assistant coach for the Sean Casey U19 competitive program and as co-head coach for both the U15 and U11 competitive programs.
Sam joined the PGA of Canada in 2021 and is currently an Apprentice Professional.
Kurt is a friendly and encouraging coach who meets his studetns where they are at. A recent addition to the PGA of Canada, he brings a fresh approach and brimming energy to golf instruction. He has gained unique and valuable insights from some of the best minds in the game. With prior experience working for the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions as a Sales Director, Kurt offers a unique perspective that blends together golfer needs, technology, and optimal performance. He is dedicated to providing each player with personalized guidance to reach their full potential - helping customers win on and off the course all year round!

Jamie Reid returns to the Hidden Lake Golf Academy for the 2025 Season focusing on the development of Ladies golf in Canada and helping you develop your own golf game. With over 30 years experience in the golf industry, Jamie has developed many successful junior programs at some of Ontario's premier courses. Jamie is a level 4 CPGA Professional and has worked under some of Canada's top CPGA Professionals. He has learned many different strategies to help you understand and develop your swing. Jamie will be available to teach all adult programs and lessons and is excited to share his knowledge and experience with you in 2025.
